1990s BHD delta clone build question

Hello I’m trying to build a colt 723 clone form the black hawk down era and my question is if a aimpoint 5000 2x would be appropriate for the build?

That dive light is gonna be tricky to find, or maybe I just haven’t looked in the right places hard enough. Toyed with a clone a while back but mostly sits in the safe lately. If you look hard enough, you’ll find a decent 2000 here and there.

I found a aimpoint 5000 2x for sale I know the normal 5000 is clone correct but im curious if the 2x version is also correct or was used by SOF in that era

Seriously doubt it. That series launched in 1999, by that time the M68s were already being fielded by regular army grunts. SOCOM would have had access to that and newer by then. Maybe someone with more in depth or personal ex will chime in, but that’s my 1/2 cent.

Definitely no 2x. The 3000 is also acceptable.
