Rifle Scopes 1st focal plane

Re: 1st focal plane

FFP- First focal plane
SFP- Second focal plane
Then follow gugubica's instructions

Paul

This has to do with where the reticle is placed in the scope.

FFP- the reticle is closer to the objective and further away from the eye, it is mounted towards the end of the erector assembly. As the lenses in the erector move back and forth when the power is adjusted so does the reticle, it "appears" to get larger and smaller when in actuality it is staying the same size as your target.

SFP- the reticle is mounted close to your eye at the rear of the erector. The reticle stays the same size regardless of what you do with your power as the reticle is behind the moving lenses in the erector.

That is a VERY simple and basic explanation but it should give you enough help so when you do a search you will now know what to look for. Paul
