Every year my father and his hunting party go moose hunting. I was invited up when I was 15 and have gone every year since. This was suppose to be my 4th year going up but I just recently got accepted to college and have to attend that instead. I was bummbed about missin the big hunt until a customer at my new job told me about this outfitter in northern ontario that offers early bear hunts starting August 18th. So in a months time my best friend and myself will be headin up north to hopefully put down a big brun! Test out my 7mm and see how it does. Just debating on which bullet to use. 168 vld or 160 accubond.

You should be fine w/ either . I prefer Partitions for bear but that's just personal preference . I would however hesitate on the VLD at close range with a bunch of speed . You may not get an "anchor" hit .

What ever happens keep shooting until the bear doesn't move anymore. Went with a group of 8 in may and 2 people lost bears that were hit hard with 7mm mags and 300's and we never did find them. The bears bled very little.
