First mule deer-sorry about the tongue as I shot him head on through the neck at 250 outside of Helena. Loved hunting in the snow. Finding I prefer mule deer to whitetail for taste.

Got on a group of 4 sows with a bunch of piglets. Borrowed a Versa Max from a buddy at work to make follow up shots faster, But was shooting crouched behind Mesquite and cactus through a fence, no follow up shots.
What suppressor are you running? I'm thinking of putting together a 450 for here in Michigan
Was running the SiCo HYBRID 46. Overall for 450bm it is my favorite. I’ve ran a Bowers Vers 458, Rugged Obisidian 45, and the SiCo HYBRID.
The VERS 458 is the quietest but an absolute tank... the obsidian 45 is the lightest... the sico hybrid has the best tone and sound to weight ratio imo

Did the obsidian 45 do anything? How much reduction? Barely knock the edge off?
I mean it’s substantially better then un-suppressed, definitely more then fine for hunting but it’s a bit higher pitched and not as quiet as the sico hybrid. It’ll leave your ears wanting ear pro if you start blasting rounds. I wouldn’t hesitate to use it on a hunting rig especially with how light it is.

Took my grandson, 12 years old, on his first hunt ever this year. We saw a lot of animals, he missed a giant typical 8 point that was a true trophy.
He smacked this spiked red deer with a 6.5 CM and stopped him in his tracks.
Going to get a shoulder mount for him. The 9 month wait is killing him.
Will never forget these memories, priceless.
Something we will do every year moving forward.

Was able to shoot my second biggest buck to date Wednesday evening. Same stand I killed the 154” 10 point from. This buck is a giant of an 8 point - 144 6/8”. 
Got this brute today at 230PM when it was hot as hell. Must have been mid 70s or maybe in the 80s here.
Suddenly, I see some thing different down my sendero and it almost looks like a deer. I raise my rangefinding unit and before it's on my eye, I see a rack moving up and down. Immediately, I know it's a good one. Looking through the rangefinder, I am able to confirm its the big 9 we've seen on camera before with a small doe. They both came out from the brush together. I got a range of 158 on the doe and the buck was just behind her. It's close enough to not have to hold or dial from my 100 yard zero so I lift my rifle into position. The buck is on the edge of the brush line hiding behind a dead mesquite. I almost want to pull the trigger through the branches but contain my excitement and allow myself to be patient. The buck is moving around but it seemed like he was hiding more and more. For a split second, he steps up front into a clear and the trigger breaks crisp. I see both the doe and the buck run together into the brush and at this point I have no idea what has happened. I call my dad and explain it all but he confirms that my shot did sound like it had a solid impact. Thirty minutes later and we are both out of our deer stands. The buck is found by my dad just a few yards into the south texas brush lying beautifully on its side. Now we realize we have this huge buck that we need to drag/carry about 1300 yards to our truck. I never realized before how much work it was. Usually I go to my deer stand on foot but if I harvest something, I go back on foot for my pickup to haul it out. This was different. The property has some cleaning that needs to be done. Unless we had an ATV, we weren't hauling that buck on a 4 wheels.
It might not look big compared to other deer. Deer in the colder northern states grow much much bigger than here in South Texas. However, for our area, this guy was very respectable in size. I hope you enjoy the pics...
By the way, I shot it with Hornady AG which I have had a lot of success with in the past. The only thing different or strange about it this time was that there was no exit hole. The bullet got stuck on the offside hide.

Well since @CStroud has been laying down 140s left and right 168 miles south of me and my entire family has killed good deer. And all my friends have been killing mature deer i finally caught a break today. Not the deer i was hunting nor as big but as hard as I’ve been going at it. I’m grateful. 640yds the 7 SS continues to impress.
Still a nice one and definitely has some girth on that bone. My 9 wasn't as girthy but the overall rack was decent. You did good.
I think people would be shocked at some of the stuff that gets killed in MS. I mean maybe not but there are some deer here that people kill on a regular basis that look like high fence. This is a friend of mine from my home town. No hunting club, no high fence, just the MS delta agriculture lol 178"

Appreciate it bud. I hope the mass pushes him up inch wise but either way i'm happy. I've been trying for about 3 years to capture near about what @CStroud got with his 8. Idk why but i'm being particular about what i want lol. I really want a mainframe 8 pushing 150. Which is a lot to ask for and not all that easy to find. We had one three years ago he's probably dead but my gosh i wanted to get him. This was him. I never saw him we had him on camera and the day i left to go back for spring semester, my dad called me and said he was sitting at my 500yd steel target behind the grain bins lol. Typical. But that's why it's hunting and not shooting.
That's just the way it is. There's a reason those bigger and older bucks get to be bigger and older. They are wise and usually don't expose themselves when there's human activity. At least that's what I've noticed.
This 9 that I harvested yesterday only showed up on cam on 2 different occasions. He had been MIA for a while. When he popped up on me yesterday, he was always behind brush until he made that mistake of stepping up into a clear for a split second.
In the past, I've seen the same thing. With bigger bucks, I've had many show up when I'm in my deer stand but they always seem to hide from me behind a tree or in some sort of cover.
The only way to counter this is to put in the time and hope they make that mistake. That 8 you have on that pic is definitely nice. I'm also hoping I can get a 150 one day. I know I can do it if I buy a hunt from a high fence ranch, but that's not my style.
Im the same way. Sure they can be bought but there is a sense of accomplishment taking an old pressured buck that has managed to outsmart hunters for 6-7 years.

Some of my 2020 kills along with a buck my son shot. Got a doe with the bow before rifle season. My son shot his buck the first Saturday of the season and I shot the big 9 that we have had on camera since 2017. Missed my chance to get him with a bow last year on a Friday afternoon, couldn't get away from work and he was 15 yards from the stand I would have been in. He was a 180" plus 12 point last year.
Shot him at 340 yards after watching him at 700 plus for an hour. I switched to the 135gr A-Tip after seeing how well they shot out to 775 yards. Getting 2735 fps out of the 18" Creedmoor, so the bullet hit with around 1500 ft lbs. He ran into neighboring property that was posted and I had zero blood for the 80-100 yards that he was on the ground I hunt. Couldn't get ahold of the landowner, so I finally went in mid day three days later and found what was left of him. Didn't do him justice for sure. He was laying on the side of the entrance and the rib over the heart area was the only one broken.
Shot the buck over 2 miles from where all the pictures were taken. The one night picture with him facing away is from this year. He green scored 173-4/8".
Shot a big doe the next week, 165 yards, perfect heart shot, and she went 90-100 yards with no blood until 10 yards from where she fell. The 135 A-Tip hit her going 2500 fps and didn't expand much until after the heart and hitting the far rib and leg. They must need more velocity or a shoulder shot to do more damage. Will be switching back to the 130 Norma that is in the old Prime ammo. We have used those on 10 deer so far and none have gone more than 30 yards with good blood and at least golfball exits.
Have gotten in one bird hunt so far and the 8 year old lab put in some work.

Both are personal bests. It’s been a great season. Both in North Louisiana.

My selfbow kills for the year. I bailed early due to a shoulder impingement issue.
My cousin with my 7 SS since he forgot his bolt rifles this time, DRT at 600yds with the 180gr ELD-M, through and through no recovery.
Filled 4 of the 5 anterless whitetail tags between 3 of us yesterday. Last weekend for the units I hunt in. The 130gr Norma is what I should have used during the regular season. Nothing went more that 25 yards and the blood trails looked like a crime scene. Shot the last two at 200 and tried my first head shot on the second one. Was able to help out a friend that couldn't hunt due to some medical issues.

Poland is a honey hole for decently priced stag hunts. This is between Powidz and Gniezno, I found herds like this every night I went looking. Fallow were everywhere as well. If I was single I would have already retired to Poland. You can live/party like a rockstar on the cheap over there.

Got him back this week. Very happy with how he turned out, and my taxidermist (who also used to be my landlord) cut me a ridiculous deal. Kinda thought the discount offer would stop once I was no longer renting a house from him, but he’s such a nice guy he can’t seem to help himself. Barely made any money on this mount, so I promised him a spring turkey fan (and hopefully a muley this coming fall).
Got him back this week. Very happy with how he turned out, and my taxidermist (who also used to be my landlord) cut me a ridiculous deal. Kinda thought the discount offer would stop once I was no longer renting a house from him, but he’s such a nice guy he can’t seem to help himself. Barely made any money on this mount, so I promised him a spring turkey fan (and hopefully a muley this coming fall).
