I have narrowed my search for a concentricity gauge to the Sinclair ($100) and the 21st Century Shooting ($170). The description for the 21st Century Shooting gauge includes the following: ..."Also the 21st Century Shooting gauge lets the operator check not only the O.D. but the I.D., a feature exclusive to the 21ST CENTURY SHOOTING CONCINTRICITY GAUGE."

My question is this: Once I know the internal diameter of my case neck, how do I use this information in my reloading? If this information is so useful, then why does no other manufacturer measure it? I don't want to pay for functionality that serves no practical purpose or that does not improve the quality of my loads.

Re: 21st Century Shooting concentricity gauge

I have a Sinclair, but if buying today I would buy a 21st, it simply measures more places and uses a indicator designed to measure runout, measuring the Inside(not really ID) runout will give a indication of the internal neck Concentricity, and if the Inside is not concentric the seated bullet will have run out.

I remember you saying that in another thread and I am glad you responded to this one. If you do find runout when you measure the inside, what corrective action do you then take?

You can probably use their expander mandrel to correct it. At the time I was looking for one, Sinclair did not have theirs in-stock so i tried the one made 21st. Very happy with it. I bought one for my 6.5 and 308.

Re: 21st Century Shooting concentricity gauge

you should check out the bersin tool if your going to spend 175 bucks on a runout gage

i can't reccomend you turn your cases if your not using a tight neck chamber
