My Savage VLP #12 is a 1:12" and I won't bother loading up the 69s I have here, preferring to be under the 60gr weight. Just the nature of the beast. I might be able to push the 69s super fast and get them to work, but then I'm burning up my throat faster and that's not something that I'm looking forward to.
Like others have said, if you have a 1:14, which is quite common, 55s and shorter will be where you need to be, unless you get a faster twisted barrel and install that.
