I have some 22-250 cases loaded with 69 gr SMK's and they are tumbling at 100 yards so I stopped shooting for the day. Would they stabilze at longer ranges or should I pull the rest of the loads and go with a lighter bullet??

Unless your 22-250 is 1-10 twist or faster it will not stabilze no matter what you do. It sounds like your 22-250 is a 1-14 try 55gr bullets and lighter.

I have been shooting 55 grains, factory loaded, but lateley can't find it down here. So for my reloads I wanted a heavier bullet for more energy downrange. Until this year I used the 22-250 for whitetail and most of my shots are 300 yrds +.

I'd stay with 55gr and less if the twist is actually 1:14". Most typical .22-250 varmint barrels use that twist.

Sierra 52 grain match bullets, Hornady 55 graim V-Max always shot great for me. You ned a faster twist for the 69 grain bullets. PAT.

I managed to get decent groups with my Remy Varmint HB in 22-250 with 60 grain Hornady spire Point HP's but no heavier. Best with Sierra 52 grain SMK's.

I've pretty much settled on Nosler or Sierra 52 BTHP's. Although I shoot remington factory 55 pointed hollow points for the brass.

I have used 60gr sierra hp flat bases and these will barley stabilize in the savage 22-250 1-14 twist. I use 52gr A-MAX and shot yesterday at 250yds and had just under a 3/8 in group with three shots and that was playing wind (4-5mph). I use 37.2 gr Varget and am around 3900-4000 fps. Use caution as this is 1.2 gr over max book value....

My 14 twist Rem VSSF's stablize the 55 gr Sierra blitz Kings very well at 400 fair to 550 then groups open up from less than .5 moa to 1.5 moa. I ordered new Bartlien barrels with 11 twist to shoot longer range. I will use them when these are worn out.

My Savage VLP #12 is a 1:12" and I won't bother loading up the 69s I have here, preferring to be under the 60gr weight. Just the nature of the beast. I might be able to push the 69s super fast and get them to work, but then I'm burning up my throat faster and that's not something that I'm looking forward to.
Like others have said, if you have a 1:14, which is quite common, 55s and shorter will be where you need to be, unless you get a faster twisted barrel and install that.
