Try an 8 twist next time. I rebarreled my grandfather's 22-250 with an 8 twist Rock Creek and it absolutely hammers with the heavy 224 pills. Have busted P-dogs out to 600+ and plates to 1400.

The 22-250 is one of my favorites from way back. My current one is a 1 in 14 twist so I'm limited to the lighter bullets. If I was having one built I would go for a fast twist barrel so I could shoot the heavy bullets.

I picked up my first Weatherby Vanguard H-BAR last year in 22-250. Prior owner swapped out the stock barrel for a 26" stainless steel precision 1:10 twist. Came with over 650 round of custom hand loads - between 40-65 grain of AMAX, VMAX, HP, etc. It shoots everything like a laser out to 500 yards at Peacemaker National in WVa. Swapped out the Bushnell 6-24x42mm AO scope (reticle too fine for these aging eyes) and swapped in a Vortex Crossfire II 6-24x50 AO with 30mm scope rings. Looking to see if I can stretch it a bit more. Remarkable cartridge, 22-250. Don't see it around here in Northern VA at all

My current one is a 12 twist and loves 55gr Nosler BT Varmint bullets. Shooting near 1/4 moa at 200 yards.

Ah sorry, I did know it was spiral, I should've worded my question differently. How many flutes are there? X-caliber offers from four to ten grooves and I was trying to figure out how many yours had. Thanks!
