Suppressors 22 Sparrow question

Will the factory 1/2x28 threads on a savage MKII SR work with the sparrow or do you have to have it like this for the o-ring?

the o-ring is in place to keep crap from getting onto your threads silencerco sells a 1/2x28 to a 1/2x28 adapter that has the shelf for the o-ring engagement

I tried to put my sparrow on a factory savage SR in a gun shop the other day. the threads are too long to allow the can to seat against the barrel's shoulder. I didn't have any measuring tools with me but I'd bet that the thread length on the SR is .475"

if that's the case the barrel could be easily machined to match that drawing.

Thanks for the replies. Now I need to figure out if I want the SR version and that adapter or just the regular MKII and have it threaded to the sparrow's specs. I'll need the adapter for my Nordic upper though.
