It was a 3 groove Lilja 30" fluted. What I have learned this year after 3,500 rounds in competition 308,300wsm,and 300rsaum is to stay away from double based powder and shoot short fat cartridges. They are more efficient , using less powder, less recoil, same velocity. I have spent a lot of time this year expeimenting and staring down my bore scope.Count your rounds , clean your rifle, and do your load devlopment at 300 yards with a ladder test then shoot for groups loading , off the lands , touching , and jammed. your groups need to be under one inch at 300 yards.I have had some intense mentoring over the last three years starting from . Our 4 man team just broke the existing NRA record at 1,000 yards at the f-class nationals at Butner. Unfortunatly Team Sinclair then beat us by two points! The most important lesson learned was to throw out my chargemaster and buy a lab scale that reads to the hundredth of a grain , or half a kernal of varget. I found out my chargemaster only got 0ne in fifteen rounds correct varying .08 to .30 or out of the x ring at 1,000. Also buy a giraud trimming tool you can trim 500 rounds perfectly in 15 minutes.
Good luck and pray over evry bullet and your rifle will not betray you!
