Good day all. I was testing loads for my AR and noticed my brass progressively gets dirtier as I go. I am using TAC powder with Hornady 60gr vmax. I built 4 different charge weights 23.5 24.1 24.5 25.0 then loaded one of each in the mag and fired them round robin at 4 different targets. After each mag the 23.5 is fairly clean while the other 3 get progressively dirtier. Anyone have any ideas as to why this happens? Thanks for your time.

Re: .223 brass question

Yeah, don't worry about this. AR15 is dirty. Dirty brass from it is no big deal. Just clean it every few hundred rounds and you will be fine. Keep the bolt and BCG lubed however.

Re: .223 brass question

I agree with the other two comments about tac being dirty. I recently wrote about my problems with tac completely fouling my barrel in about 30 rounds on my .308. I can usually get hundreds of rounds with varget loads before I am forced to clean the barrel.
