I think you're being a bit too broad. There is no reason why a suppressor with good sound reduction should compromise accuracy, and you may also find that shift isn't that important as long as it is consistent. A compromise in sound reduction is going to be a more serious compromise to the system than minor shift.

AKA OPS inc makes a great sounding can in the 12th model, and it may not have the absolute best in class POI shift, but it is repeatable shift, provides outstanding sound reduction, won't compromise accuracy, etc.

A lot of guys shoot with one, and say "It's going to be a suppressed rifle from here on out."

Christian</div></div> Christian, I would tell you not to limit yourself to a 223 can for a 223 bolt rifle. I personally shoot a 30 can, Thunderbeast 30-P1 on my 223 bolt. At first I used a AAC M4/2000 but was unimpressed with the accuracy so I had the threads turned to 5/8 x 24 so I could use a 30 cal can. This set-up is both accurate and quiet. I can't tell you the actual reduction of sound as I don't have a sound meter but it seems to reduce it in decibels as much as it does the 308 bolts I shoot - It sounds good. I say get as much can as you can get and work backwards. That way you can grow in rifles of calibers up to 30 caliber and not be limited to the 223.

Re: 223 Suppressor

For my 308 I will be using an AAC Cyclone and for my 300 win mag an AAC 300-TM or Thunder Beast 30-P1. I have shot all three before and was quite impressed with their performance.
I have never shot a 223 suppressor, so that's why I need some advice as to which 223s perform the best.
Also, all of my rifles will be shot more often suppressed than unsuppressed so a quick detach is not necessary for me.

Re: 223 Suppressor

I have been very happy with my AWC cans the POI shift has been very repetitive. I have heard that the pricey Sure Fire cans have no POI shift but I have no idea if this is true. PG

Re: 223 Suppressor

Christian,
I have a Remington 700 LTR in .223 that I'm shooting through a Gemtech "Halo" can that I'm very pleased with. With the heavier barrel on the LTR, I can't really tell any difference in POA. It's a heavier can but the thing is well made and effective. I put my hearing protection away and enjoy the distinctive sound of a hit on a metal target at 400 yrds. I think they're still around the $700.- mark but worth it. I've had occasion to need service (because of a poorly fitted flash hider from a smith) and Gemtech was more than willing to help correct the problem and to offer tech support on other issues.

+1 or if you want to go 30 cal. 30p-1
Thunderbeast is a great company that builds a quiet precision can. You cant go wrong with them.
