I sent Hornady a message asking about any plans for a heavy A-max that would stabilize in a 1-9" twist barrel from a .223 Remington. I think that a 70 gr A-max that could be loaded mag length and would stabilize in a 1-9" twist barrel is a great idea. I haven't gotten a response yet so I was wondering if anyone has heard of them planning anything like that? I would also be excited about a low drag, heavy V-max bullet. A 65 gr boat tail V-max would be very nice.

I have shot many Berger 70 VLD's. I like the A-max bullets much better. I primarily hunt prairie dogs and the A-max does a better job on them than the Berger VLD. The A-max reacts much like the V-max bullets, but the Berger often doesn't expand at all. I am really just interested in knowing if Hornady is going to make anything like the Berger 70 VLD in an A-max version. It would be nice if they made an A-max version of the 68 gr HPBT.

    100% agree.
