I'd like to play around with the 224 Valkyrie out of one of my short actions out to 1000 yards, and it's been a while since I followed anything on the cartridge. My thoughts are a 1:7 twist with the Hornady 88's. Does this sound like a good combination? I know early on there were some questions about twist rate, just seeing what the consensus is now.

Also, who is spinning up a good barrel?

1:7 is great for 88/90. If shooting factory ammo you want a sammi chamber. If handloading, you want the long freebore reamer to get the most out of the cartridge so the 88 isnt jammed way down in the case. Keystone Accuracy has this reamer.

So really, I just needed to search 'padom' and I've had been good. (y)

Good stuff. I may have missed it, how did the MDT mags work out for you?
