243 vs 260 w/28" barrel?

I am building a new rifle between the 243 and the 260. The ballistics are very close, with the 243 having a little more velocity, but minor differences as I understand. The barrel life should be very similar, with the 260 possibly get a few extra rounds out it in the end.
If you have shot both what is your preferences between these two cartridges for LR shooting?

I don't think they're close at all.

A 243 will outshoot a 260 all day long and twice on Sunday if using the 115DTAC. Not to take anything away from the 260 as it's an excellent cartridge when loaded right. It will give you longer barrel life than the 243 and loaded ammo may be easier to find. However if you're going to load yourself, the 243 way outshines the 260 in performance.

The 243 is a race car.
The 260 is a race car that's also a daily driver.
The 308 is a "sports" car in its stock configuration.
