Anyone who is shooting the two mentioned 25 Cals what are you seeing velocity wise and barrel life? Is there any reason to go with the 25 over the same case in a 6.5?

That’s basically the same round. If your talking about 6.5x47 and a 6.5 CM. Lapua makes brass for either.

Got you there. From what I’m seeing the 25CM hits higher velocities without pressure. I’m wondering if the 25x47 or 25 CM has any benefit over the 6.5x47 or 6.5CM.

Yes. You use the 6.5 equivalent brass of each of those. I’m asking if there is a benefit in velocity and barrel life. Basically why would you choose a 25 over the 6.5
I’m using a 25CM. Alpha brass 42.5 gn h4350 puts me at 2950 FPS using 131 blackjack. U can use 6.5 cm brass and neck down with a 282-283 bushing. Creedmoor brass is cheaper that’s why I went with it. I’ve got 800 rounds down the tube right now.

The 25 caliber Ace has a much better BC than the 6.5 I was running it in a Creedmoor with a.335 G7 @1950.
It’ll have a Little less recoil than its 6.5 equivalent with much better ballistics. I just pulled the barrel at 2600. It was still shooting .5 Moa but had lost 40 FPS over a 70 round match.

Make the switch and never look back. The blackjack ACE is an excellent bullet and there are more high bc bullets that will be coming out soon. I shoot a 25x47 and love it. I’ve been using CCI 400 primers because I can’t find 450’s and keeping the velocity lower around 2800-2850. Only pressure signs I’ve seen is piercing a primer at 2950 when I was working my load up. There’s no reason you can’t run it at 2950 in 25x47 with the right primers but that’s about the max I would go.
not entirely true. You can get bullets no one wants. But I get your point. Which when a bullet is sole sourced from one manufacturer now it becomes even harder. So it’s much harder to get 25 cal bullets than it is to get 6mm, 6.5mm, 7mm, 30cal and so on.

I’m running a 26” medium Palma 25 creed at 2890 with an sd of 5.2 if I remember. So far I’m extremely pleased with it and prefer it to my 260 rem and not 100% sure why! Just like the idea of the 25 cal I guess. Same reason I want a 270 build
If you haven’t already, mess around with the combos in your calculator and compare them. The 25’s are going to outperform their 6.5 parents pretty easily. Barrel life should take a hit with the 25’s, and the creedmoor is going to outperform the 47 all else being equal.Well I shoot the 6.5x47 now
