I bought a used Remington 700 264wm because it was cheap. I put it in a HS precision stock that I was trying to sell, made up some 120 grain barnes tsx bullets and wow it shoots great. It dates to 1967 say stainless steel on the barrel(was this common) and is perfect on the outside. My son will use it for his first deer season this fall. I dont post very often but lurk daily.

Nice piece. Remember that the blued barrel is an iron plating over the stainless and then blued...so beauty is just skin deep. If you scratch it, cold blue won't touch it up. Magic Marker time.If you are going to drag it around in pick-up trucks or 4 wheeler racks, you might want to apply a piece of the camo duct tape to the visible parts of the barrel to protect it. JMHO
