284 loads with 162amax or berger 180

Well I finally got my 284 fully ready to shoot and was wondering if anybody has any great load data worked up for theirs. mine is 26" 9 twist 3 groove benchmark on 700la. i have 162amax and berger 180s, cci br2's, 4821sc rl 17, h4350, h1000 available. I had my rifle throated for 180's coal 3.3"

thanks I have read that I was just looking for other opinions, the 6mmbr guys always make me alittle nervous because they tend to load things quite hot. they have a vast amount of knowledge and are very helpful but I was looking more for tactical applications.

Diggler, Thats a sexy rifle! I cant help you out with load data on that. But I have a question, what color is that USO? Almost look kinda purple. Looking forward to a range report.

I have had very good luck with 54.5grs. H4831SC, BR2 primers & 180 Berger's. I have tested up to 56.1grs. H4831SC & settled on 54.5grs. I have also tried RL17 but wasn't able to get the accuracy with it that I could with H4831SC. All bullets used were 180 Bergers.

uso is black just glare from the sun I am not much of a photographer. I will post data as soon as I shoot so excited.

what velocity were you getting with 4831sc?

With any load posted online, and I mean any, you should always reduce by 10% and work up to your accuracy node.

I got 2915fps with 180s & 3050fps with 162 amax RL17 for both, very happy right now. can't wait to keep testing.

anymore info guys I can't be the only guy running a 284? or do you guys just not want to let the cat out of the bag about how sweet this cartridge is. pushing 180 berger the best ballistic ballistic bullet from a major manufacturer under 338 at 2900fps with under 55grs powder.
