from a law standpoint it doesn't make much sense to me................
might as well sue the gun maker also............
the gun was deadly to begin with........
the bump stock just made it more deadly...........
so if the bump stock wasn't there you wouldn't have been hurt?

some sleazy money grabbing court whore of an ambulance chaser probably promised them the sun and the stars if they sued...........now theyre going to pay a bunch of attorney/ court fees and lose, then be out a bunch of money just like what happened in Newtown.

lawyer doesnt care, hes already sucked them dry.....hes got his money

This.

It's the most disgusting form of emotional manipulation.

Gun manufacturer has legal protection. I don't think that applies to slidefire because they're not really a gun manufacturer. Despicable bullshit. I hope the lawyer gets sued into bankruptcy for some trivial bullshit.

If it doesn't apply to slide fire, what about gun manufacturer's subcontractors/vendors making say for instance stocks or handguards or anything else? Or subcontractors/vendors selling into the open market? Wouldn't Magpul wind up in the crosshairs soon thereafter?

I have no idea. Best I remember is it covers manufacturers and licensed dealers. Research Protection of Lawful Commerce for more info.

In other news, Ford, GM and Chrysler were served with class action paperwork for all motor vehicle deaths.

Same nonsense was attempted after the ACA shootings here in NY, plaintiffs got their asses handed to them, case dismissed.

Gander Mountain was supposedly at fault for someone who passed their background check, then went batshit crazy.

As the victims of the shooting likely do not know the law and are likely blameless, I hope they are not putting any money of their own into this suit...

Businesses in the United States that are engaged in interstate and foreign commerce through the lawful design, manufacture, marketing, distribution, importation, or sale to the public of firearms or ammunition products that have been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce are not, and should not, be liable for the harm caused by those who criminally or unlawfully misuse firearm products or ammunition products that function as designed and intended.
[h=1]15 U.S. Code § 7903 - Definitions[/h]
(1)Engaged in the business

The term “engaged in the business” has the meaning given that term in section 921(a)(21) of title 18, and, as applied to a seller of ammunition, means a person who devotes time, attention, and labor to the sale of ammunition as a regular course of trade or business with the principal objective of livelihood and profit through the sale or distribution of ammunition.

(2)Manufacturer

The term “manufacturer” means, with respect to a qualified product, a person who is engaged in the business of manufacturing the product in interstate or foreign commerce and who is licensed to engage in business as such a manufacturer under chapter 44 of title 18.

(3)Person

The term “person” means any individual, corporation, company, association, firm, partnership, society, joint stock company, or any other entity, including any governmental entity.

(4)Qualified product

The term “qualified product” means a firearm (as defined in subparagraph (A) or (B) of section 921(a)(3) of title 18), including any antique firearm (as defined in section 921(a)(16) of such title), or ammunition (as defined in section 921(a)(17)(A) of such title), or a component part of a firearm or ammunition, that has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.

Where there's a lawyer, there's a way. Judges will determine applicability of the law. Judges are lawyers.

This case and the others in its class will work all the way through the courts to the very top, despite legislation which should bury them in their own tracks from the outset.

Simply put, there's just too much money to be made here for the legal profession.

The clouds gather. They will hang a pall over the entire industry for years to come.

Would somebody please clarify it all for me about how that evil clown in the LV hotel room could not possibly have been a false flag agent?

If you want to know how a thing happens, why a thing happens, follow the money.

I think the sleazy lawyers are suing the wrong people who were responsible. The ATF approved the Slide Fire. If they had not approved it, the manufacturer could not have legal sold them. If Slide Fire had sold them without ATF approval then Slide Fire would be at fault. Just my two cents.

^ I disagree. I believe AFT did its job to the best of its ability interpreting a law written by congress (most of whom know dick about firearms). Based on what is known now, the shooter seems to be the only one liable.

Sue Las Vegas. Sue the hotel. Sue the window maker. Sue the concert promoters. Sue Nashville.
Fucking stupidity.

That's exactly what I was about to type Tucker. Sue the window manufacturer for making a window that can be broken. Sue the hammer manufacturer for making a product that allows a window to be broken and shot through. Sue the hotel for allowing a maniac to rent a room. Sue the city for having an outdoor festival plaza. Sue the police department for not showing up in time to save everybody. Sue the taxi driver because she took a video of the shooting and did nothing to stop the shooter. Sue the frikkin airport because it was too close to the hotel and made too much noise!

This whole sue thing is absolutely stupid. But, we knew it was coming. There will be a lot more to come.

I got your Slide Fire right here!
