I worked up some loads in my 30-06 using a new powder I've been trying.Did a OCW and shot round robin.

Ramshot list 57.0 grs max load with 200gr. Mine seem to want more powder, since I had no pressure signs.

Notice that 57.5,58,and 58.5 share the same poi. I figure 58grs is ocw, which gives me 1% in either direction and will be same POI.with speed around 2692 avg.Not bad.

~56 and ~58 grains looks good , good velocity , what kind of rifle is it ?

Re: 30-06 208 amax OCW test

That velocity is pretty good for 200 grain bullets and only 58gr powder, imo. Not too familiar with 30-06 handloads, tho

I think you've read those targets perfectly, I'd use the 58.0 too and play with OAL a bit if you wanted to bother. If those groups were shot at 200 though, I wouldn't blame you for just zeroing and shooting the hell out of it.

Looks like the little Marlin does pretty good.

Re: 30-06 208 amax OCW test

Well I'm right handed and left eye dominate. Feels comfortable shooting left handed, but I do practice shooting right handed as well. Kind of goofy huh... But I think it helps when certain situations come up and can shoot either way.

So I plan on during another test using H4350 powder with 208's. I bought hunter powder awhile back and now its hard to find around here, go figure.

Well I shot the H4350 with 208's and wasn't to impressed. The speed was slow, but it was getting dark and could have affected the Chrony. I was getting 2550-2620.
