I am looking for a good loads for my rifle that I recently put together. I am currently shooting the 168 gr. Amax with 55.6 gr. of 4350 and they shoot pretty decent. I was wondering what you guys are using for that bullet. I plan on stepping up to the 208 amax when my 168 are gone. What would be a good load for that bullet or what would you guys suggest using.

If you are using H4350 that load sounds way mild. I am using 55.5gr of H4350 with a 190 SMK and clocking 2880 with no pressure, from my Apache Machine and Custom built Rem 700, with 1-10 Krieger #17 contour, finished 27".

I forgot to say it was IMR 4350. I could be wrong with the charge weight it is late and I am at work so I can't check to be sure. I am looking to get good accuracy to atleast 1000 yards maybe further if I can find a place with enough room to stretch out. I am shooting a Savage 110 with a 1:10 twist Criterion barrel finished to 26".

Try to find some H4350. It is hard to say whether you will have similar results as mine. My chamber was cut with a rather special reamer. Don't just switch to 208s without trying a box first. I would also recommend trying some match kings in the 175 and 190gr varieties. I have reached a mile with the 190SMK with accuracy. I tried the 208 AMax and could never get it to perform well in my rifle.

My current 30-06 load is 185 vld's and H4350.I'm getting 2815 avg fps with 24" barrel. I've only shot this to 1K and works great. Another powder that works well is Ramshot Hunter, RL-22, and H4831 (a little slower speed). Right now H4350 is hard to come by, but works awesome in the 30-06.

Try the H4895... shooting them out to 960 yards iron sights on a 4' diameter steel and constantly hit 6 out of 8...
