I don't have a chrony yet and I've been loading for only about 4 years. From previous test I've found 58.0 grains of rl22 is pushing a estimated 2750 I'm using quick load. This load is half Moa at 100 yards in my sako a7 I'm happy it works great. I'm also loading them to mag length so they are shorter than they could be. And are compressed I worked up 5 round test loads at .5 grain increments to 61 grains. Group sizes in the 59-60 area was not great 61 was moa. I had hits at 500 on a 12 inch steel plate with all loads. Using the exact same dope.
I had three rounds left at 61 grains and lobed them at a 24x48 steel man silhouette. First time to stretch its legs that far. I hit one out of three and the other two were real close. Just windage calls all off. Only took 8.6 mills to get to 1000 with the 61 grains. No pressure signs. But recoil increase was noticble over the 58 grain load. Where should I go from here. Be content with the 58 and work with it to 1000 or see if I can dial in the 61 for better groups. How much more velocity am I getting with 3+ more grains. Thanks to all
