HELLO GUYS, WHATS THE BEST POWDER FOR A 30-06 SPRINGFIELD, I´M GOING TO TRY SOME LOADS FOR MY CZ550 AMERICAN 30-06 FACTORY BARREL AND I WAN TO SAVE SOME TIME AND MONEY TRYING TOO MANY OPTION.
Ok, we need some info first. What bullets do you plan on shooting? What twist and what length is the barrel? These answers are needed before we can provide any accurate info for you. Your twist will determine the range of bullet weight you can get away with. Then once you choose a bullet you need to find which powder will get you started.
Oh, and take the CAPS off, its considered yelling here.
I've had great luck with burn rates from H335 all the way through RL22. Like asked, need to know the twist and bullet you're shooting before we can help.
tank you very much guys sorry for my late repply, number 1 : caps off, number 2 my rifle cz550 factory barrel 23" long 1-10 twist, i have some sierra spitzer bullets 150 grains, my rifle is doing 3/4 moa whit factory federal soft point, i want to keep using the rest of my spitzers then i want to try some hornady 175 grains a-max or sst and try some longer range shoots for practice before trying in hunting situations.
I keep IMR-4064 just for my .30-'06 loads, mainly because some of them might be finding their way into my Garand. It likes its powder on the faster side, and its bullets 180gr or lighter.
Also, FYI, H-414 and W760 are the same powder under different labels.

For 150's I like faster powders like BLC-2 or 4064.
I have very good luck in my rifle with 150 FMJ's and 53.5gr of BLC2, this is a warm load, not the hottest it can go but for the sake of barrel life I shoot them around 3050-3100 fps. I can get them north of 3200 with BLC-2, but I don't really see the point.
