I am interested in getting an upper in .300 BLK. My eventual goal is doing an SBR w/can so I can run sub-sonic heavy ammo quietly.

I know that the 123gr stuff is supposed to be real similar to 7.62x39 (so they say).

I have been searching here and Google, and really haven't found much info. I found a chart from 25-400yd with a 100yd zero using 123gr. I am mainly looking for charts with 300 yard/meter zero. I'm also interested in a true drop chart for the three major bullet weights I've seen (123gr, 155gr, 220gr) with zero being at 0 yards. Trying to get an idea of BZO and the max effective range here.

If I build one, I will most definitely be loading my own ammo to keep it cost effective (and cuz I like to tinker). Any info you guys can give me on this caliber is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There is alot of info on this site regarding the 300blk but to answer your question you could go to an online ballistics source and input the numbers to get a drop chart. You mentioned running the load at subsonic so just input 1050 for the speed and the other relevant specs of the bullet you wish to shoot and you'll have your chart. Load to that speed and rock on.

I haven't been able to find it. I've been looking here in exterior ballistics, and the reloading section... searched .300 AAC Blackout. Got 8 pages of results, but most were BST and WTB type stuff. I really hate asking questions like this.
Good thinking regarding punching it into an online ballistics calculator. I'm more trying to get other people's results regarding this cartridge honestly. I am more of a .45/.308/7.62x39/12 gauge guy, so that's where my knowledge base regarding ballistics mainly lies.
Thanks for the reply.

The search here can be tricky for a new guy to use well. Here is a link with some info and you can look for posts made by Rsilvers as he gives lots of good info on the subject. ---LINK!---

The BC of the Remington 125 grain ammo is 0.338 according to Sierra. It is 0.320 according to a doppler radar test I had done. The muzzle velocity is 2230 from a 16 inch barrel, and 2050 from a 9 inch barrel.

The subsonic is about 1010 fps from a 16 inch barrel, and about 970 from a 9 inch barrel. G1 BC is about 0.720 according to radar.

Note that G1 works out better for both these bullets than G7, according to the radar data.

BulletFlight for Android or iPhone has 300 BLK built in.
