Gentlemen,

I've been messing with my .300 Blackout loads for 110gr V-Max and 125gr Nosler BT's. Today I tried a load I found on line for the 110gr V-Max's. It was 21.4gr (which I thought would be a little hot) of H-110 loaded long to 2.088". The 5 round group at 100 yards was one ragged hole with no signs of pressure. I'm going to hopfully put that load over the Chrony this weekend. I also have some 100gr Lapua's on the way and I was hoping someone may have some info on loading those.

I'm just working on the supersonic stuff until I can swing the suppressor so any advice is apprecieated.

Matt

Re: 300 Blackout loads for light bullets

I just bought a box of 90gr XTP to try at high speed.

QuickLoad info:

1.562" COL gets you equal depth of seating and bullet diameter (.309) @1.355" trim length

16" barrel (bolt action assumed)

Alliant 2400 @ 16gns (96% case capacity) nets ~97% burn @ ~2400 fps
Hodgdon H110 @ 18.8gns (99% case capacity) nets ~91% burn @ ~2350 fps
Hodgdon Lil'Gun @ 18.4gns (100% case capacity) nets ~97% burn @ ~2400

<span style="font-size: 11pt"><span style="color: #000099">Sir,

I'm not one to argue numbers (too much, lol) but when I added 21.4gr of H-110 under a 110 V-Max to my latest load there was still a little room in the case. I only say this because you cite 18.8gr of H-110 to be at 99% case capacity. Does all that info come from Quickload? I've been loading mine long to 2.088 and showing no sign of pressure. I will Chrony it later this week. Still having a lot of fun playing with this round though.

Thanks,
Matt</span></span>
