300 BLK build

Sorry if this is a repeat of older threads, but I’m looking to build a 300 BLK platform. Looking for something that is not going to break the bank but will perform well. Ideally shorter than 16” barrel but no need for the pistol size either. Mostly will be used for West Texas hog hunting and the size makes it more maneuverable around a side by side without getting caught on anything. Thanks in advance.

Kak barrels are good barrels that will not break the bank. Check out the Mr blonde

Is this gun strictly to hunt with or going to use it to hunt with and then also take to the range and shoot subs suppressed etc for fun?

I got a Compass Lake 16" rec contour pistol length barrel. It shoots 120g black tips in the same hole at 100. It is a Douglas blank they turn in house. It come with a matched hpi bolt. Not cheap but worth it.

BCM barrels are awesome. Their chrome lined enhanced profiles are probably my favorite general use AR barrels. They're mostly around 280-320 USD I believe.

If you're going under 16" might as well go short with it since that round performs great out of shortys. I have an 8.5" Noveske that is an awesome shooter. As 10ring said, KAK are great budget barrels, as are Ballistic Advantage. Haven't shot a BCM 300BLK but my 10.5"556 BCM barrel has been great for the past few years.
