Sinclair is selling the 300 grain .338 bullet. The first accuracy reports look very good. They are out of boxes of 100 and I had to buy boxes of 50. If you want to try these bullets now would be a good time to buy. It looks like they are giving about 200 more yards of supersonic range over SMK.

You need a faster than 1:10" twist to utilize that gain and they're expensive. There's a post down below, with a link and a PDF file embedded in that link that goes through the pros and cons.

I shoot a 1:12". Good luck.

Jerry1-

You may want to try the search function. There are several threads about the new 338 300 grain hybrids from Berger. I have a couple hundred and I'm going to get around to reloading them sometime next week. a 1:10 IS RECOMMENDED or faster. The box from Berger even states so. 100 with shipping was $89 from Sinclair. BC of .891. I have heard initial reports that they are excellent until the become transonic.... If you shoot slower than a 1:10 good luck. About all I know as of now.

Re: 300 grain Berger Bullets

I loaded some 300 grain bergers with my Forster Benchrest seating die and they seem to be so pointy it puts all the pressure right on the tip of the bullets and deforms them a little. Has anyone else had any such troubles with different dies?
