Been trying to get 180gr Accubonds to run in this 700P for an elk hunt. Not going to work. Very inconsistant groups at best. Most are 1.50" or bigger (3 shot), 5 shot is worse yet. Down range they flat SUCK.
Rem 150 Cor Lok shoots better. Hands down.

I did swap from H1000 to RL22. Running 75.5gr of RL22 and runs out at 3,080fps.

Looking to try some Berger 168's or something.

    Any suggestions?

I just worked up an awesome load for my winny. 76 grains Reloader 22 with the 168 VLD. Running 3150 seated .005-.008 off the lands. Max is 77.5, I may not even make it that far with my results at 76.

Bug holes from my custom tube, Lapua brass.

I also shot SUB groups out to 550 yards with the 180 TTSX with 72 grains Reloader 22 with .040 jump.

I had the same problem with one of my 300 winmags. The best I could get was better then you ( about 5 inches at 450 yards) but when you know the gun is capable of much better you want it! I am going to try using Noslers this weekend. Like you I have tried both h1000 and allient r-22. I hope the old standby's (partitions) will do better.Jeff

I have been having good luck with h4350 in my 5r 300 wm with 180s under an inch at 100 on ladder loads trying to find the right load. I also have some 168's loaded up to try for a hunting load I haven't made it to range yet.

    Re: 300WM, 700P Hunting Load info.......Bergers?

Ran some Sierra 175gr SMK tonight at 73.5, 74.5, and 75.5gr of RL22 just to see if this thing would shoot. Didn't load a lot, but the 3 shot 100yrd groups were under .8" (pretty easy) and the 300yrd groups were under 2".

    Hope the Bergers run similar.

FWIW, Accubond has a new name around here. ACCUTURD
Shoot'n pard was amazed. He runs nothing but Accuturds in his 30 and 338 cal rifles.

I've been trying to find a decent load with 200gr Accubond in my sporter 30-06. It's a consistent 3 moa bullet at 100 yards.

I figured maybe the thin barrel on the sporter wasn't up to it so I tried the bullet in my varmint barreled 308 as it's a known shooter even with 208/210 class stuff...still 2+ moa.

This bullet never did excite me at 100 yds. My groups weren't quite that bad, maybe 1.25" to 1.5" but they didn't really seem to settle until over 200 yards. Shot some sweet groups at 600 that really never opened up any more from 100. This was out a 11 twist 300WM @ 2900fps. They have a really long bearing surface, probably 20-25% more than the 208 Amax, this may come into play? The Accubonds were always loaded to mag. length also. I don't know if running them up to or into the lands would help, but it's not practical in a hunting rig.

I'm running them in a 1/10 twist factory Rem sporter. I've tried loads from 2800 fps down to 2580 fps with about the same 3 moa accuracy accross the board.

I tried them on 15x25" steel at 375 yards, with about a 50/50 hit/miss ratio. It was ugly.

That's smokin' out of an '06 isn't it?

    You're right. That's depressing.

How much RL22 are you burning at that velocity. I get 2800 out of 71g and 2870 from 72 gr. @ 3.40 oal. I'm fascinated by the crossover between the two cartridges. One of my good friends shoots an '06.

Oh, and how much difference does moly make?

Bergers all the way (if they perform on game)

    Loaded the following with:

    F215M Primers
    Win Brass
    OAL 3.525
    Ogive 3.838

    74.5 3,037fps avg
    75.5 3,082fps avg
    76.5 3,115fps avg
    77.5 3,192fps avg

This all out of a Rem 700P 300WM. The 76.5 and 77.5 really grouped well. Very sub MOA at 100 and 200. Testing tomorrow for further out. Repeat on 200, then on to 300,400, and 500. Velocity is good, and accuracy is .75MOA so far.

Sure beats fighting Accubonds. Just no love there at all. .055 off lands. Think I can bring it in some, but want to see what it does down range.
