.308 110 vmax

N140 might a bit slow. I'm using 45.0 grains of N133, COAL 2.67", Norma brass, Magtech 9 1/2 primer. That will produce 3010 fps at 20 F in my 20" Remington 788. There are some pressure signs already at that temperature. That is about the suggested max load. Start lower.

Two 5-shot test groups: 0.42 MOA at 150 meters and 0.6 MOA at 100 meters. As an added bonus, it shoots basically the same point of aim as my 130-grain TTSX deer load at 100 meters.

Thanks , I've seen a couple of loads for the n133 , but went with n140 as that seems closest to varget, which used to work very well indeed , not to bothered about speed , as it's for sub 200yard anyway , will hopefully be testing this week , , will post results

My friend uses the 110grn V-Max, out of his 308 Winchester, for varminting. He loves it, and he has made kills all the way out to 800 yards with this bullet. It provides massive splat factor. He runs it out of his 26" barrel at around 3300fps using 53grns of Winchester 748.

I am having a rifle built around the 110grn V-Max and 125grn Ballistic Tip bullet. However, I will be using it out of specialized 300 WSM rifle called the 300 Varminter. This rifle will shoot the 125grn BT at 4000+fps out of a Bartlien 30", 1-15 twist barrel. Richard Franklin is building my rifle, and he specializes and designes high velocity rifles for varmintig. Look at his web page under Richard's Custom Rifles.
