So I contacted surgeon rifles about a new action... as of now, not possible. I would like a quality action for my F/TR rig by the fall so I could have it built over the winter and ready to compete next spring. any thoughts of alternatives? I have a mcmillan a4 stock that is set for a rem 700 so I would like a remmy clone that will take a detachable magazine system.

The BAT tactical is suppose to be a true 700 clone drop in. It has many of the same features the Surgeon has, plus it's fully Melonited. At around $1500 though, it's a few hundred more then the Surgeon.

that was my original intention. I was going to send the entire rifle to GA Precision this fall but I started thinking... If Im going to spend 1600 dollars to get everything done that I want, why not just spend the money and get a really nice action? Maybe I will just stick to my original idea huh?
