I have a Dpms 308B and I just bought and installed a Magpul Prs AR10 stock. I am beside myself with the fact that my chargeing handle will not clear the cheek weld if in the upper position. I got the ar10 model thinking that it was made to clear the Cheek weld?? Am I going about something wrong or is the stock something that is suppose to "look good" and not work worth a $%#*. If thats the case does any one know a functional sniper style stock for the 308? Thank you.

The paper work in the box the stock came in says its a gen 2 ar 10 and it doesnt clear by about a 1/4"

Take some measurements and first try to ensure you have a AR-10 PRS and not the 223 version. On the LAR-8's you have to install a spacer to bump the stock back alittle but I don't believe that is the case on the DPMS.

I have an AR10 with a PRS on it and it will easily clear the charging handle. The PRS stock is definitely not just for looks.

If you have the AR-10 version, you will have no problem with clearance. If you do then that means something got mixed up on the sellers end and you were sent an AR-15 version.

I agree with KillShot if you were somehoe shipped the AR-15 version instead, the charging handle will not clear. I have a DPMS LR-308 and if you have the correct stock for the .308 and you will have no issues what so ever, and yes the charging handle will clear. I would look at the box and make sure it states that its for the .308 then give the people you ordered it from a polite phone call.

Just cut 1/2" off the front of the cheek piece and it's good-to-go, or send it back for the correct one.

With the charging handle forward, I get 4-7/16" between the rear face of the charging handle and the front edge of the cheek riser. Coincidently, the cheek riser itself is 4-7/16" in length. Hopefully you can measure your stock and see if the numbers are the same. I also snapped a few pictures to show the gap between the cheek riser and charging handle when it's locked rearward.
