I don't have a crono., after my latest ladder test I'm really liking my 43.2 grains varget
Can any of you give me a good ballpark muzzle velocity with this load.

175smk
WLR primers
43.2g varget lapua case
2.800 OAL
26 inch 1/10 twist barrel

In my two 20" factory barrels that load is around 2485. In a semi custom 18" that has had a hot salt bath, 2520. In a 21.75" custom, 2610. In two factory 26" barrels, the Remington is the same as the custom (2610) and the Winchester is a bit faster at 2650.

The gunsmith that built my .308 didn't tell me the specs for my chamber, except that it shot 175's real well, and the barrel is a tight bore (.299). It seems my barrel is quite fast.

24" Bartlein 1-11.25, 5R
Lapua brass
175 SMK
BR2
43.3gr Varget
2.840" oal 2.236" ogive -.020 from the lands
2780 fps

I'm almost 2650 fps out of an unusually fast 16.5" =178 amax/lapua/210m/43.0 varget.
The only way to really determine relevant velocity without a chrono or even with most cronos is to: A:note your environmentals and weapon specifics B:zero your rifle at 100. C: dial till you getting center hits at longest distance possible and note necessary adjustment required.
Run G7 calculator truing velocity to actual drop data under specific conditions and run program based on said velocity........That will give you all the info you need.

With 43 grains of Varget under a 175 SMK in fgmm brass, I got 2664 fps over a CED chronograph. When I trued the velocity at 880 yards I got 2636 fps. This was with a 24" barrel.

Chronographs are liars. They can't help it, it's the nature of the beast.
I have retired mine because I got sick of having to true everything afterward anyway. Now I cut to the chase and DOPE it, much simpler and cheaper.

I would agree with you as that has been my experience until I got a magnetospeed... now with it teamed up with my kestrel and JBM or the app on my “device” it’s always on, within +/- one tenth of a mil through supersonic flight... If only I was that good at predicting my wind hold. :D

I have to retest every time I switch lots of Varget. I have seen variations of as much as 1.5 grains between lots and I have heard others shooting f class say they have had up to 2 grains variation with all other components being the same.

I use 44.8 Grains Varget/ 210M primer and 178 A-max. 1-11.25 24 inch barrel which has netted a trued velocity of approx. 2685FPS. I'm using virgin Lapua brass.

I use 42.5 grains of Varget with CCI BR2 primers, 175 grain SMK in Lapua brass in my AI/AX rifle with a 24" bbl.
It comes out at 2625 and will shoot 1/4" groups if I do my part.

My gun averages in the .3's at 100 with the 43 grain load and 175 SMK. It held a .68 moa group at 880 yds. (6" for three shots but two shots were 2" apart).
