Gunsmithing 308 reamer ?

Re: 308 reamer ?

I cut .308 chambers with a .308 Obermeyer Match PTG reamer with good results.

The throat is a little short, which works great of you need to feed from a magazine.

Re: 308 reamer ?

Thanks guys, I tried talking to Dave. They seem to be a little busy at the moment. I had found in some previous posts talk about the bisley reamer. I guess you could say I'm looking for the goto reamer for the factory ammo as my customers aren't into reloading yet.

thanks R

Re: 308 reamer ?

Rthur,
I got the 308 Bisley on advise from Dave at PTG. He also reccommended the sprial flute version. Thumbs up on both...I'd never used a spiral flute chamber reamer before. It cuts with so much less resistance it's hard to believe. The rifles shoot well also.

Re: 308 reamer ?

I have the Bisley reamer on order from PTG. I changed the neck clearance to 0.339 to give me 0.003 clearance using Lapua brass. Will let you know how it works when it gets in. krw
