I'm in the market for a 338 Lapua rated suppressor. It will honestly see more 300BLK, 308, possibly a 338 federal than 338 Lapua but I have one in the safe that doesn't get much use because it's loud.

Considering the YHM Bad Larry and the B&T vers36Ti.

The B&T is really interesting and is rated for 18" 338L for some reason that seems like to much for a 3d printed suppressor in my mind. I have never actually tested a 3d printed suppressor on anything so I don't know enough about them to have an opinion. Also I haven't seen any reviews on it on anything bigger than a 308.

Curious if anyone has tested either of these suppressors and what they thought of them.

TBAC 338 if you want recoil reduction and sound suppression. Only negative is it adds a lot of length. The Dead Air is also long, but it does a good job with sound suppression. Recoil management is not as good as the TBAC.

I don’t own the tbac but I suspect the nomax with a recoil x brake destroys the tbac in recoil

TBAC 338 ULTRA SR.

If I had waited only a couple of months, I would have the RR version.

Superb.

It lives on a 338 Lapua Magnum Improved. Lone Peak Titanium, Carbon barrel, TT, Whiskey 3 folder, super accurate. My only regret is the choice of builder. Never again with that dude, no matter how it shoots.

Well sure but TBAC now has a 338 Ultra-RR with the brake on it. The brake makes the suppression go from 132 at shooter's ear to 134 compared to the normal 338 Ultra. But it bumps the recoil reduction from 32% to 54%. I'd be very surprised if the Dead Air is doing better than that at recoil reduction given any more than that would put it in the territory of a very effective muzzle brake.

Obviously the TBAC 338 ultra is this choice, honestly my 338 isn't good enough for a TBAC can, just a Rem 700 police. I genuinely am interested in the 3d printed suppressors but it doesn't seem like anyone has used one yet?

The recoil x is amazing and I’m pretty sure I saw a video it was more effective than the maverick and rr cans.

For twice the money Id be shocked if it was 10% better than a dead air + recoil x at recoil or sound suppression

I have both and should have clarified the TBAC is the RR and Dead Air doesn't have the Recoil X, so I can't provide an exact comparison. I don't have a way to test it with actual data but I can you anecdotally the difference makes the gun go from being tolerable, but not enjoyable to shoot, to enjoyable. I would guess in the range of 20% difference. I'll order a Recoil X for my Dead Air and see how much of a difference that makes.

Have one for my nomad L and nomax. Well worth the money
