Gunsmithing 338 Lapua on Rem 700 LA

I have a Stiller single shot action that is a duplicate of a Rem 700 Long Action. If I get a new bolt or perhaps my 308 bolt face modified, can this be used for a 338 Lapua? Or is there a special magnum action required.
