.338 lapua shell holder?

i went to size some .338 lapua S&B brass and it wont fit in my lyman # 17 shell holder..is it wrong? the lyman box says #17x is a 17 different?anybody know?

Can't help on ur question but will tell u to avoid lee shellholder for 338lm. Started reloading338 for a buddy, pulled out a shellholder from an old lee set. He had some hornady ammo he shot, i thought i would set the fl die up with it. First stuck case in 20 years. Hornady 338 had a slightly smaller rim dia then lapua by about .009". That combined with a looser shellholder equalled suck. The lee was replaced by a Redding and problem solved. The lee works fine with the lapua brass, but the Redding is a perfect fit and seemed fine on the hornady, just slightly loose.

I also use a Redding # 35 shell holder with Lapua brass. It's a good fit.
