Gunsmithing 338 RUM feed ramps model 700

I had a 700 300 WM action that I want to convert to a 338 RUM. What do I cut the feed rails to? I do not have a reference gun. I have a Kreiger barrel chambered but just need to know th feed rail dimensions.

On my 700 338 RUM the back is .570 wide the front is .650 and the change is at 1.600 to 1.710 a taper, this is from the front of mag cutout. hope this helps, if you need any more info ask. PS: don't forget to get a new ultra mag box

I converted a Remingon 700 in 300 WM to 338 RUM a couple of years ago and didn't do any mods to the receiver. As noted by xp100man, I did use the RUM box which has cutouts for the cartridge shoulders. It runs fine.

Just looked at my spare 300 mag box and it's the same as my 338
Brownells has blue-767-000-680 9.99 and SS-767-000-679 9.99 both in stock

Thanks for the help I will measure mine and see if there is a difference. I will also order a ultra mag box.

Where ya going to shoot that boomer (you live where)Look at the front of the back scpoe mount boss, the ultras have a cutout that is 20-25 deg to the port and 30 deg up and about .400 wide. Not sure if yours has it.
