just picked up another savage long action 110, small shank 30-06. Would there be any problems with running a RUM cartridge with this action? obviously the bolt face needs to be changed, but how about action strength? thanks

I have one of the 300 RUM guns but it was built on the large shank. I feel like I have seen a fed 338 edge guns built on the small shank action but not positive

I've done a couple 338 Edges and a ton of WSMs on small shank actions.
No problems with the 338RUM. It will be best suited to run it single shot. The magazine is just too short to go repeater.

I have a CDI DBM going on it so mag length shouldn't be an issue correct?

If you plan on bullets over 225g, you'll have to seat them very deep into the neck.
Not as bad as the Edge. The RUM has .090" less length.
