Suppressors 338 ultra for sub 338 calibers

I have a TBAC cert and I’m stuck between the ultra 9 and 338 ultra. Obviously with the cert, it’s a better buy to go with the 338.
I currently have a 308 and am having a custom 300 wm being built in the near future.
My question is, does anyone regret getting the larger can for use on 30 cal and down?
Intended use is hunting and target shooting.

The 338 is noticeably quieter than the Ultra 9. If weight/length is of no consideration, definitely get the 338.

I did the same thing last year. Used a certificate to get the 338 ultra. Going to use it on a .260 &223 precision rifles. The check was cashed in June so I hope to get it soon. The size difference between it and the Ultra 9 was not enough to make a difference to me.

I have a 338 Ultra and I run 300 Whisper and lots of other calibers through it. Very quiet.

338 ultra is amazing on sub calibers. 6mm variants are dumb quiet

If the size is not a problem, the 338 sounds fantastic on smaller calibers.

TBac fanboy here. I have 7 of them including the Ultra 338. (bought for an AI/AWSM 338). Use it on my DD4 .300 BLK in the backyard. Live across the street from a city park and nobody knows any better. (zoned rural, so it's legal)

The thing with cans is "one is never enough". For rifles, I think you need at least three. one for .22 (or .17 hmr) a 6.5mm tbac ultra 7" and their .338 can. I'll probably buy an ultra 5" in .30 for the blk, just don't feel like doing more paperwork when the .338 does a very nice job.

Echoing - if weight is not an issue (and it usually isn’t) - go with the 338 - SL much quieter.

Just as follow-up, to an earlier response I made in this thread. My stamp/approval has since came thru and I've used the 338 Ultra on a 260 Rem & Tikka 223. It was without a doubt worth the wait and very, very quiet.

I can be tighter than 2 coats of paint when it comes to spending money, and this was money well spent.

I just put in my stamp for a 338 ultra and from the videos Thunderbeast has made it seems to be quieter than their others can in most cases. And it's only slightly longer (1ish inches) than the ultra 9

Thanks for the input. I’m going to go with the 338 ultra. A good friend of mine has one that he let me shoot on his 308 and it’s stupid quiet. It also tames his 300 wm and 7mm stw.
