Found some Varmint[5 lbs.],at my local shop. Looking for a 69gr. load to start testing, in my remmy 700, and Stag 6 . 1/9 twist. The only loads I found, were "limited info", from Alliant, for 40gr.-55gr.. I'd rather not buy a new book for a couple load specs. Thanks, for any info. I have found a good 35 gr. Midway polymer tip bullet load, for plinking to 100 yds. IMR 4198-20.7gr., at 2.1 COL, wolf primers, and Remington brass. Also good with 26.3 BLC2, same COL. Both loads shot 1/2 in. at 100, after I settled in. I liked getting over 300 loads from a pound, with the 4198. the down side is the metering. I like the ball powders more. First time, for me, with the BLC2. Have'nt loaded .223, in 30 yrs. Spent some time dialing in my RCBS powder thrower, and threw 50 loads, and only had to trickle more into 3.then I threw 400, checking every 10th, and they stayed consistent.
