Dang, what a bunch of incompetents and cowards those guys are.
Don't they have any snipers to take the guy out first? Then when they storm, they should all burst in at once.

I worked with the PNP for 8 months and they're an absolute abortion in terms of operational fitness. Little training, poor equipment, bad leadership, and rife with corruption... little wonder why this shit happened.
Most PNP in rural areas are actually paid for by the local warlord. It's like 2mil Philippine pesos to get accepted into a police program, so the warlord foots the bill and the PNP cop spends the rest of his career protecting the warlord, giving him intel, and fleecing the people to pay the warlord back. And we wonder why they're fighting TWO insurgencies in their country?

Thats an excellent example of how <span style="font-weight: bold">not</span> to do a bus assault. At one point during the negotiations an angry 12 yr old with a 10-22 could of resolved it more competently.

It seems that at least six of the hostages have been confirmed dead. The gunman has also been killed in the storming.

I guess they don't train much for this scenario. Who knows how often they actually train? The part where he is trying to throw the glowstick into the bus there was probably a hostage on the other side of the hole in the window thinkin: WTF?!?! This ain't no rave. The hijacker had all the curtains pulled all the way down so they couldn't get off a clear shot from outside. They are lucky that only 6 people died. It could have been much worse especially the way they handled it. The burst of full auto at the end was probably the perp shooting as he went down. Yeah I've heard that corruption in that country is ridiculous. Criminals get away with anything as long as they can payoff officials. BTW, I found out that the hostage taker was a PNP cop who was fired and did this AS A WAY TO TRY TO GET HIS JOB BACK. What a genius!!!(sarcasm)
