Rifle Scopes 3x9x40 vs. 3.5x10x44 Conquest?

Same reticle, hunting rig, is there much difference? $300 worth? Ready to pull the trigger and the gear queer in me is cherping in my ear.

Not worth the extra MSRP difference in my book. Matter of fact the 3.5-10 has more critical eye placement than the 3-9
