40x 22lr Base question.

Re: 40x 22lr Base question.

It depends on your scope . I run a Leupold VX-II 6-18X40 which has about 50 MOA of total elevation . With a 25 MOA base I have roughly 5 MOA of downward travel with a 35 yard zero . To get to 300 yards using this zero I need 48 MOA which I am just shy of having . If your only gonna shoot out to maybe 100 yards then your probably golden . If you want to stretch its legs beyond that your gonna need all the help you can get .

This is of course all highly dependant on your rifle and scope but it doesn't cost you any more money for a 20 MOA base than it does a 0 .
