40x or Old Style R700 trigger?

I have a 308 getting built right now. I have a 40x trigger and an old style 700 trigger. The gunsmith is good and I have felt his tuned triggers before and have been happy with them. This will be my go to gun for hunting, fun, and some match shooting. Which would you have them install?

I've used both the "old style" (non-X-Mark/X-Mark Pro) standard Remington 700 trigger as well as the later/current 40X trigger on my Tac Ops X-Ray 51. Tuned by a gunsmith who knows his way around Remington triggers they'll both operate and feel the same and both will be reliable and repeatable down to around 2.5 (two and one-half) pounds. In practical terms the difference is that the 40X trigger is externally-adjustable for pull weight, whereas the action has to be removed from the stock in order to adjust the pull weight on the standard "old style" trigger. Personally, I would get the 40X trigger just for the convenience of the externally-adjustable pull weight.

I have a mid-90's era Remington VS in 223 with the old style trigger that I tuned myself. After some dryfiring and about 900 rounds, it is a sweet trigger.

Recently I had two guns built on Remington actions. One of them is a XCR action with the 40X trigger and the other is a standard action with the X-Mark. I played with the 40X trigger but it still isn't as good as the old Remington and the X-Mark came out crisp but still about 2 lbs. heaver. Maybe with time they will become as nice as the old style...
