40x range report....me too!

i am waiting on an A5 and I still am not sure what I am going to do about optics........but, I just couldn't wait anymore......

dropped the 40xb into a PSS stock that I had already opened up the barrel channel on and pulled a nikon buckmaster scope off a 10/22 and duct tapped some mouse padding on for a comb riser.....all in all it was a horrible feeling rig that did not fit me at all.....I don't think my face actually touched the stock at all!!!!

Anyway.........rolled out to the range and gave it a whirl.......

here's how it did:

6 shots..........at 50yrds........set up the way you see in the pic above. Clearly I pulled one shot probably cause its still freaking freezing here!!!
but......i think this rig has potential! I was hoping to satisfy my impatience while I wait for the stock but I think I just made it worse!

Glad you got you a shooter. I have been loving mine since I picked it up last year. Cant wait to see it in the new stock, post a pic or two when you get it and as for glass I like my set up....

I hope your wait isnt too long

I guess it all depends on the length of your neck and the fit of a stock. I am looking for a similar stock to do the same thing you did. I will have to check out E-bay for a used one.
Let me know how tough it was to open up the channel and did it come out uniform.
If you are going to broom the stock in the future give me a shout with particulars and a price.
