In looking at this brake, Is there any benefit in getting a 6.5 over a 308 if it was going to be on a 6.5? Also how well does the suppressor thread mount work vs direct threading onto the barrel? Any draw backs with the mount vs direct thread?

I have three of these brakes and an assortment of their suppressor mounting pieces.
I was told when I was emailing Jon that the difference was extremely minimal. I still waited for the 6.5 to come off back order so I had the three sizes I wanted. Having installed both sizes on both my 6.5 gas gun and my bolt action, I can say that at least to my shoulder, I couldn't feel a difference really.
As far as the direct thread suppressor, I only have a couple hundred rounds direct threading a Sandman Ti with the system but no draw backs so far other than a tiny amount of added length.
I can say that I was really impressed with the attention to detail and machining quality on all the parts I received, and so far have been absolutely thrilled with the performance and flexibility of the brake system.

Very minor improvement in going with a 6.5 brake over the 308 cal brake. The 6.5 will provide somewhat better recoil mitigation. If you are going to stay with 6.5 or smaller calibers go with that brake. If you think you might shoot some 30 cal stuff in the future, just buy the 308 brake. I shoot both 6.5 and 6 mm, but I bought both brakes in 6.5. I thought it would smart to have my brakes the same size. It would suck to screw up and put a 6 mm brake on a 6.5 barrel. I have the suppressor adapter as well. I like being able to go from muzzle brake to the can and back all without tools. The taper fit is awesome and very repeatable.
Yeah, eff10mm is correct that there's a chance of swapping the brakes. It almost happened to me at the range when I had taken three or four friends to shoot and they were messing around with my equipment. Luckily I was being watchful but if not that would have been a bad bad day.
Thank you for your responses. I went ahead and ordered the 308 to be safe. Can always get a 6.5 later if I feel I want to. Should be receiving it today and looking forward to getting out to the range to see how it works. Related to suppressor mounts. Do you find with the adapter that any POI shift that does occur is consistent and repeatable?
