Im looking to get into reloading .45 ACP and Im just getting the totals gathered up to see how cost effective it will be. My question is just for a standard load how many rounds could I look at getting out of a 1lb container?

Re: 45 ACP Question

Yeah I looked at all the stats and averaged them all together and minus the reloading dies, your paying about 21 cents, thats 100 bullets, 1000 primers, 1 lb of powder. Now if you buy the 1000 round count of bullets it drops down to about 17 cents a round. This is all just 230 FMJ Rem., as apposed to buying a 50 count box of the same and thats about 40 cents a round. Reason for all this a buddy of mine just bought a 45 and couldn't think of something to get me and I told him dies would be good and we could both use paying less for ammo.

Re: 45 ACP Question

7000 grains divide by the 5.0 grains i charge with gets me 1400 rounds providing i dont have any tiny spills or have to pull any rounds.

45 is pretty cheap to reload if you are using plated bullets and its even cheaper if you are shooting lead
