Suppressors .45 can, Osp or TI Rant..

Guys, new to suppressors and don't have access to any to compare, other than youtube. Looking to pick up a can for my FNP Tactical and really, would like real world input between the Osprey and TI Rant 45/s. Much appreciated in advance.

I demo both suppressors all the time in the shop and from the shooters perspective, the Osprey 45 has a noticeably louder first round pop then the TiRant 45. But when I do a blind test for customers it's usually split 50/50. Both are great suppressors, and you can't go wrong with either one. Just have to choose what you features you like. Some people like the way the Osprey looks, some don't. Some people like the traditional design of the TiRant, I have gotten more then one person tell me the TiRant looks like a pipe bomb.

Thanks Cris. Both are scalable correct? Can go down to a .40 if need be? Are you stocking any of the 308BA's? Gonna have to head your direction shortly and have a looksie. BTW, looking for that email.

I run my fnp 45 tactical with the tirant 45. I went through the same process of deciding between the the osprey or the tirant and eventually it came down to aesthetics/ square or round shape hanging off the end of your gun also I believe the poi shift adjustment is a little more simple with the aac asap clutch

Yes, both are scalable, and I should have most of the pistons for both suppressors ready to go.

We do plan on getting some TBAC 30BAs in. About to make another order since I am running out of 30P-1's.

I agree with the comments regarding the TiRant and Osprey being very close in performance. I own an Osprey and love it. Mine is shot mostly on 1911s but I also use it on a Sig P220.

The locking piece on the latch keeps the suppressor indexed nicely. I only have to loosen the latch for adjustment when mounting on a different host.

Just a funny observation regarding the shape of the Osprey...

Years ago when AAC was working on a similar design nicknamed the "Black Box" everyone was drooling over it and touting it as an incredible, genius design. (And it was! I got to hear some prototypes.) Then AAC shelved the idea. SilencerCo came out with a product of similar design (well, at least in exterior shape and size) and all of a sudden many of the Black Box fans poo-pooed the new product and mocked the shape. I just think it is funny to see how some people changed their opinion mostly (if not entirely) based on the company who produced the product.

The newer TiRants come apart for cleaning if that is an attractive feature for you.

Both products are made by great companies with excellent support. I own products from both companies and am very happy. Both products perform very well. They are THE two .45ACP products to get at this point.

Yes. The baffle core comes out for cleaning.

I personally don't see the need on anything except rimfire but some guys really desire that feature. I've shot thousands of rounds through 9mm and .45 ACP suppressors and only clean by soaking in lacquer thinner to flush out some of the build up. This includes my 9mm suppressors on full-autos. I rarely run my pistol cans wet. With few exceptions I use good quality ammo that has cleaner burning powders. I view my suppressors as wear items and know as some point I will likely replace them for better technology.

Take apart designs don't just allow you to take them apart, they REQUIRE it. Some people don't want the hassle. I am one of those. YMMV.

+1 for the Osprey.

Either choice you cant go wrong but I give the edge to the Osprey. The offset axis allows a better sight picture with most stock sights. Only the rear section of the Osprey is the "registered" part of the tube. Everything ahead of it (most of the can) can easily be replaced without a new tax stamp (if that type of damage is even possible). It will not roll off your bench either.

The first round pop is easily tamed by 5cc of wire pull gel.
