5.11 Field Ops Watch w/ Sureshot Ballistics ??

Re: 5.11 Field Ops Watch w/ Sureshot Ballistics ??

Thanks, the Sureshot is designed by Horis, its 5.11 trade name for the program according to 5.11.

Sounds like there is no memory so each shot and each load must be input but like to know how easy it is to use. Sounds accurate from what I read.

Thanks

It is very easy. We used at a time based team match, in colorado in 2006. Only stores one cartridges data, but once you have the data in it, it works fine. Like all ballistic programs, we adjusted BC, and velocities to match actual field data. Was able to make great hits out to 1180 yards with Mel's .260

I have one. I use it sometimes. I dont think its a bad tool at all, but might be a little slow depending on what type of targets you are engaging.

If you are using ballistic software on a PDA, you have the advantage of using the range card mode which will give you a come up chart. You cant do this on the watch obviously. Its definitely alot faster to simply reference a chart. Like I said, I do have one, but I really havent found a no shit practical use for it, but your needs might be totally different then mine.

+1 on every thing said up, not so practicaly handy, better to wait when it'll be around 100$. they won't improve it more except if they ad meteo sensors... in the future $250 5.11/Horus watch )

a range card and a good log book full of personnal data and you'll learn your ballistic each time you trigger, the goal is to achiev your one shoot with the less accessories in mind but what you can see in your scope...

have a good day everyones
