I've found a few items here and there but one in particular I can't seem to find is a SS fluted barrel, bull barrel, or 18" barrel...Even all of the above in one barrel would be cool as well. Anyone make one? Thanks.

S&W 5.45x39 mags will fit a RR lower. You just have to push them straight in. If you try to put them in at any sort of angle, the mag will not fit into the well. Good luck.

One more thought for you. CDNN has the S&W 5.45 uppers available, as well as extra mags at a remarkable price.

GP = Gas Piston and DI = Direct impingement. But ya I'll check it out. Np. Thanks again.

Re: 5.45x39 AR-15 parts?

The only ready to go GP upper I know in this caliber is the Adams Arms. A friend bought one and I've shot it quite a bit, it just runs and runs without needing to be dripping wet. He went with it because pretty much all he runs is corrosive and he has no problems although he's rather "enthusiastic" when cleaning. Disassembles everything and throws it in the kitchen sink, then pours a tea kettle through the chamber out the muzzle onto everything else in the sink.

I will say this, there's no sign of corrosion. He just CLPs it when everything is dry. The only downside is that it's not as accurate as I've "heard" some are. He's been running a scope I had out on loan so it may have bit the dust along the way. To come up with one with a fluted barrel, I think you're going to have to go to somebody like Scott Milk on this site.

Wow now that's some cleaning. Amazing. I could never bring myself to go that far. To much work lol.

Re: 5.45x39 AR-15 parts?

Model 1 sales has quite a few upper options in 5.45x39

I have seen people get away with loading it straight into a standard AR mag with no problems.

You can also just change the follower instead of buying a whole new mag.

Thanks man. model 1 sales is great. And the part about the follower, could I change out the follower in a pmag for 5.45x39 follower?
